This is an email that Hermana Tuckfield sent from the Mexico MTC on August 4, 2017:
So life at the MTC or as they call it here, the CCM, has been so fun! Every day is full of classes and learning spanish in different ways, whether its grammar or lesson making or goal setting. My companion is so sweet and nice! I have loved learning from her!
Last week on our first p-day we got to go to the temple which was so beautiful and huge and an amazing experience! And then today I had to get my visa all sorted out and we traveled about an hour away to get fingerprinted and everything.
The food here is a little funny, I say this because even the Latinas think it is strange. But overall tastes good and fills me up!
Learning spanish has definately been tough, but after giving a talk in spanish for five minutes and working with a Hermana from Hondurus for help with it, ive been able to understand the language a bit better. But it is for sure still hard a lot of the time. It is pretty cool to learn and understand more greatly about the gift of tongues though and how to best utilize that ability.
Today has been somewhat of a slow week though, but the past two were mainly jam packed with learning the rules and understanding different guidelines for living in Mexico.
Everyone is so kind here, my teachers are just amazing, and I cannot wait to go and serve the people of Pachuca!
