Such a fun and crazy week!

We had intercambios on Thursday– it was so fun! I went to Tecamac 1 with Hna. Rodriguez. She leaves this next cycle, so a week from today she goes home to El Salvador. But she was so nice, and I was able to teach with her the 10 commandments which I have yet to do and it was so fun! Because we taught it to a 9 year old girl, Suri, who was baptised last week. And it was so adorable because she had her scriptures all out and we were teaching her little hand trick things to help her memorize them, and she was marking them so sincerely in her scriptures and she was so young but had such excitement for the Gospel and for the words of The Lord. The intercambios really helped me recognize and remember how we are all children and God and we can all have that same excitement and innocent love for The Lord.

I had my first baptism on Saturday and it was just the greatest! It was a 15 year old named Isabel and afterwards she was saying how she wanted to go back in and be baptised again and again! It was such a cool feeling, and even greater to think that her parents want to be baptised too this Saturday! It is such a beautiful thing to bring people to the joy that you have. And the gospel fills me with joy.

I love being here and helping people recognize and gain the peace of the Gospel in their life. I love serving and the people here are all so kind and open hearted. I love The Lord and I love this work.

So for the Mission Pachuca, our Mission President has a goal for all missionaries to receive at least 2 baptisms and 4 people to go to the temple within the months of July, August and September. I just got here like first week of September and it has been a struggle to try and find 6 ready people. But this week was amazing because we were finally able to find Victoria and Isabel who truly feel the Spirit and want to be baptised! And the ward was so helpful this past Sunday with finding people who have never been to the temple before. And it was just amazing.

We had some downs, with getting our bikes stolen and Hermana Diaz getting sick and at the beginning of the week everything just seemed grim. But there is such hope and light with the Gospel and it was amazing to see The Lord working so many miracles for us. Like finding people ready for the Gospel and President Kimball finding us new bikes! It is just amazing!

Everything has reminded me of the scripture in Psalms 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I am so in love with the kind hearts of the people here and the hope I have for the future for these people because The Lord brings such strength and such peace that is, for me, unable to be said fully in words. But I love Him and have witnessed his mighty works in just three weeks so I cannot even imagine what these next 16 months can hold.

I cannot even contain how much love I have for the people here and the area! I love Mexico so much and everything has been so fun! I dont know why but I just have felt such such joy this week and love for The Lord.

I am in Tecamac, with my amazing companion Hermana Diaz. She is so helpful with me learning Spanish and such a great missionary example to me! Our area is huge, and it is a new location for both of us but these past two weeks we have been just getting to know the different locations and meeting the members and everything.

One of our areas, Tenninitula, was having a fair this week and it was so fun because we were able to meet and contact so many people and they were so kind and gave us food for free that they were selling at the fair and it was just so much fun! And then Mexico Independence Day is this Friday, so we have been able to help people decorate their houses for it!

Most of the time, I dont know the words that people are saying, but I have faith that as I keep trying and working towards understanding more and more each day- I will eventually get it. And the gift of tongues is real as the Lord is helping me to remember things I would not normally think of to say.

I am reminded of a great scripture found in Doctrine and Covenants 84:82 which reads, “For consider the lillies of the field, how they grow, they toil not, neither do they spin…”

And to me it just feels me with peace that The Lord will provide for me in times when I am weak- I have felt that before and know it is a continual promise.

I finally made it to Pachuca! I absolutely love it!

I am in Tecamac, Ojo de Agua with my companion Hermana Diaz! It is so cool here, our area is huge and there are many to teach- it is so exciting!

A cool experience was finding a man named Rafael and he went to church with us and we invited him to get baptized to which he said yes, but before that he said gracias for finding him! But it isnt really us who find him, it is all inspired by The Lord which I think has been the greatest thing to learn.

The members and the ward are all so inviting, kind, and helpful! I love this work and I love this place.

I am so grateful to have the Gospel in my life and the ability to share it with others!
