Hermana Tuckfield is training

On 11/27, Hermana Tuckfield emailed us to tell us that she is a trainer! That is the reason why she was unable to email us last week – she was busy picking up her new companion. As a trainer, Hermana Tuckfield will be showing a new missionary (fresh from the MTC) how to work in the field. It is a big responsibility and we are happy for her and hopeful that she will love it and learn a lot. Her trainee is Hermana Vanini from Peru. Here are two pictures of the companionship:

Update on Hermana Tuckfield’s wrist injury, 2017-11-10

Below is a picture of Hermana Tuckfield that we recently received, showing her cast and sling. In this picture, she was at an appointment to get a flu shot. We have been told that the orthopedic doctor has said that her healing is going well and her cast will be off on December 10.

What a week yall!

Okay so I was passing a car on my bicycle last week and the car door opened right as I passed by and I hit the car door and fell on my wrist. I ended up breaking my wrist and am in a cast right now but about the first night I was having a lot of pain and could not get to sleep so I asked my companion what to do and she said to pray on my knees once more. So it was about 3am, and I prayed oncemore on my knees and right after I was able to sleep.

This moment really reminded me of a verse in the Bible, Mark 4:39, which reads,

And he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

The whole theme of the Pachuca Mission is always uno mas or one more. One more person to teach or help or serve. But I think its okay if sometimes this uno mas theme is okay to use for ourselves too. This gospel brings me a kind of peace that is always hard for me to describe. But I testify that The Lord can calm any storm and bring us a great calm like the scripture says.

Injury update, 2017-10-31

Update from Emma’s Mom, 2017-10-31:

Emma had an accident on her bike in Mexico. She injured her wrist badly and we got a call late last night that she was at the hospital and would be going under anesthesia to fix the problem. David was home and he got to talk to Emma and the mission president. The procedure went well and she is doing fine. They sent us the x-rays and I kind of wish they hadn’t it was bad. She was on her bike and someone opened a car door in front of her and she hit it and went down. She will be in a cast for a while.
